Vacation Time

We have been looking forward to taking a much needed / deserved trip to Utah. I have two family reunions to attend and they happen to fall in the same week. Two birds one stone, YES! We had planed early this spring to borrow a van to make the 22 hour drive more roomy. Sadly it keeps breaking down ( it is a sign to not take it and get stuck in the middle of nowhere). So we have packed up the truck and are heading out in the morning.

We have been talking about this for some time and have gotten Matt excited to go. He is so funny, he keeps calling it new-tah. Rob and I have tried to correct him but we think it is too cute so we gave up. No need to make him grow up too fast, he already talks well for not quite 3 (sometimes too well)

Well here we go off on our adventures. I can't wait to tell you all about it.

Green Day

In the beginning of June West Allis had Alla Cart Days. They shut down Greenfield Ave. from 70th - 76th street and have venders, music, food, and fun. It was a beautiful day so Matt and I went to see the West Allis weirdos, they were out in force. Matt got to sit in a police car and on a police motorcycle. He had the most fun holding the fire hose and "putting out the fire", he talked about it for days.

They had one end of the street just for kids. Blow up bouncy houses and face painting and hair coloring. His favorite color is green these days so we colored it green for him and that was the highlight of the day. He cried so hard that night when it was bath time and we had to wash it out. I am talking full on tantrum. I guess Matt liked it more than I thought he would.

It was such a nice day we treated ourselves to a snow cone, you guessed it green! It was a green day all around. Green hair, green balloon, green treat and a green stroller. He declares everything green to be his. Mom and Matt got to have a fun green day together!

Hoof 'N Mouth

We have had a FUN few days in our house recently. Thursday morning before a baby check up I noticed a rash on Matt's trunk. So I asked the doc about it who said kids sometimes get rashes in the summer time. Logical, the next day it seamed to start to go away. Saturday Matt is burning up and is just not himself, he doesn't even want cake at a reception we were at (left early to take care of Matt). Sunday Rob went out to the Moss house to help with some thing, in the mean time I noticed red dots on Matts hands and feet and butt. Rob comes back to say one of the cousins has Hand Foot and Disease. We look it up in the toddler book and we a pretty sure that's what it is, he has been complaining of a sore mouth all day. When I tried to look in his mouth I saw some sores in there too.

After much debate I call the nurse hot line and they tell me to get him looked at before the next day. This is 10pm on a Sunday and the only place open is the hospital. So off Matt and I go ( Rob needs to sleep to function at work) and end up waiting forever. The doc gives him some Tylenol laced with Oxycontin. I can tell he started to feel better when Matt started to push all the buttons and turn all the knobs. He even pushed the nurse call button I had to hurry and canceled that. Finally at 3 am we are aloud to go home. He has not slept the entire time.

The next day was way off schedule we got up around noon and skipped a nap and had soft foods at very little bites. He still has a big sore on his tongue so he thinks all food is the enemy, he wont go near yogurt any more. He is starting to get less cranky but I am starting to think it has more to do with being 2 and testing the boundaries.

Some days I often wonder why I chose to go thru all this all over again. Oh ya big hugs and kisses.
